Who We Are:
Dr. Eric Helson
Dr. Helson grew up in the smaller communities up and down the central part of Ontario. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 with an Honours Degree in Physical Education, he married and followed his new bride back to her hometown of Halifax. In 1990, he was accepted into the Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating in 1994. The family moved back to Dartmouth, where Dr. Helson has been practicing ever since.
With a strong interest in how the body moves and how to keep it moving well, Dr. Helson continued his studies to become a Chiropractic Sports Specialist – known as a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada). He accomplished this goal in 2003.
Over the years, Dr. Helson has volunteered at numerous sporting events covering everything from swim meets, speed skating, and triathlons, to track and field, hockey, and basketball. When not in the office, he can frequently be found going for a run, enjoying a long ride on the bicycle, or spending time with his wife and daughters.
Ms. Karen
Karen is the glue that keeps the office running. She is the first person you meet on entering and the last one you’ll chat with on your way out. Super efficient, and keen to help others, she is quick to reach out and help the patients. Dr. Helson regularly remarks that she is the proud recipient of the shoehorn award for her skill at getting people in quickly!
